Luke's top two front teeth broke through his gums today. In the past two weeks he has gotten his bottom front two and a molar trying to break through and now these two.
I am not up on teeth but I don't remember the other boys getting them so quickly and all at once.....Maybe my two good friends who know a lot about teeth, you know who you are Kelly Hemrich and Sara Bergbower, will leave a comment on this one.
Needless to say he has been a little grumpy but not too bad. I have heard if they loose teeth early they have greater chance of cavaties and problems. I am hoping that getting the little ones early doesn't mean something bad in our future.

How old is he now? Nick had six teeth my the time he was 5 months old. It seemed like they came in in two's. It was crazy and even the doctor commented when he had his molars at 8 months. That meant 14 teeth at 8 months. Good luck. Now he loves to use them to bite EVERYTHING!
And while the experts are weighing in, could they please let me know when you are to take your child to the dentist?
I need a real answer for a child that probably will not deal with it so well.
My dentist(Dr. Dill) said around 3-4 if the child could handle it. Obviously Ross was not a good candidate so we opted to wait until this summer when he was almost 5.Cole we took right at 4 and he did well.
I wonder wht the experts say.
Hi girls,
That sounds about normal for Luke. All kids are different, with Brayden he got his 2 lower teeth in first and then it seemed like forever before the upper 2 came in. I think that is why is bite is off.
Anyways...they say between 6-7 1/2 months for the front 4 teeth to come in. But it does vary from each child, my niece got hers when she was 4 months and is now at 5 losing them. Then some do not get them until 12 months. They do say that if they get their baby teeth later, then their adult teeth will come in later and better chance of less decay. I also believe a lot of it is genetics also. So just try to brush their teeth for them everyday and hopefully that will ward off those bad sugar bugs! Definately if would happen to see something sucpicous you should take them to your dentist.
The dentist question, things you read say as soon as their 1st tooth comes in, but being realistic. Between 3-4 yrs. is good or when you think your children are ready. At our office we just take it slow and see what we can do. Sometimes just saying hello to them is all we get done, but sometimes they will let you do anything and we end up cleaning their teeth. I think a lot of times the kids suprise their parents. I know their is no way Brayden would let anyone look at his teeth. I can barely get him to let me look and brush them.
I hope you did not feel like that was a lot of babbling, I would not say I am an expert..but I gave it a whirl..I would like to hear what Kelly's thoughts are also.
I hope this helps
Sara
Thank you sara!! I feel better and seeing that others' like Amanda's son and your neice got them early too.
Wow, he's teeth are coming in fast! He's such a good baby. It doesn't suprise me that he's only been a little grumpy.
Who needs books on how to raise kids when I can get the info here. I will be so prepared for motherhood!
Cute picture of Luke!!!!!!!!
He is the sweetest baby. Hope his teeth are good.
Love you Luke!

I do not believe in the old saying that if you get them early they will be bad. I think it is more habits & a little genetics that keep your teeth healthy.
Garrett was 14 months old before he got his first two teeth- he has been my only one to have cavities.
I like to see kids when they are 3-4 years old- not when they have 3-4 teeth!
Do I need to bring Luke some food? It looks like he doesn't get a thing to eat!!! Garrett was HUGE as a baby- he was over 20 pounds at 4 months & grew out of the little carrier. I'll have to show you some pictures.
