Natural Disaster

I am feeling like we have a natural disaster at the Farley household. LUKE is a disaster! Cute, but a walking (more like running) disaster!! He constantly goes from one mess to another and into so many things that he should not be into. I vaguely remembered toddlerhood with the other two and I don't remember it being this bad. Maybe I am just older and more tired.
Any tricks would be appreciated. Some legal way to keep him tied up?

Cole's Shrooms

Cole found these three big mushrooms last night while golf ball hunting at Papaw & Granny's. I asked him where he found them, but he wouldn't tell me. Good boy!

It is time...

For those of you seeking the elusive morel, now it is time. We took the boys mushroom hunting last weekend and found about 25 or 30. We probably could have found more, but it is kinda hard looking for mushrooms with a 1-year old. We also ran into a problem with our first patch. Apparently, there was a "controlled burn" this spring. While it does make it easier to find mushrooms without any leaves, I guess they don't grow on bare ground after a fire. So, we had to go to one of Papaw's patches. Sorry, Papaw, we wish you could have been there. I am sure they will grow back for you to pick this weekend. :-)

It is almost official...

I have heard from Mr. Alburtus and will probably be sworn in to the school board on the 27th or 28th. I cannot wait to start my new post. I think it will be a very rewarding position.
I want to thank everyone for your vote and support. I also appreciate all the cards, emails, and kind words. I feel blessed to have such great friends.

Happy Easter!

Easter Bunny-

I don't know if you are a real bunny or just a guy dressed up in a rabbit costume, but either way, thank you!

What do you want to be when you grow up?

A couple weeks ago at our pack meeting for Cub Scouts, we had a costume party. The boys were told to dress up for what they wanted to be when they grew up. Without hesitation, Cole said he wanted to be an Insurance Agent like his father. He said that he wanted to work long hard days just to make sure his customers had the right coverage for the best price. I was so proud of him. Ross, on the other hand, decided that he wanted to be a Power Ranger. However, I am not quite sure why he is wearing a hockey mask. Anyway, I told him that every household needed a superhero and that I was proud of him. I don't know how kids can decide when they are eight years old. I'm almost 35 and I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up.

Go Vote!

Well Folks, April 7th is the big day. Even though this election seems small and insignificant and the weather may be less than desirable, get out there and vote.
As Tim Farley said on his blog you can get your voice out there by voting for people who share your views or at least you feel they will exercise good decision-making.
Most of you know that I am running for the Jasper County School Board and I would appreciate your vote on Tuesday. My only agenda is a good solid educational foundation for the kids of Jasper County.
