Does anybody know what this is?

There are two of them growing in the pond. This was the largest. Looks and feels like jello, but doesn't shake when I laugh. If you have any thoughts let me know.

My official guess:

Bryozoans

There are other jelly-like blobs that can be confused with egg masses. Bryozoans, sometimes seen attached to submerged sticks or docks, are animals similar but unrelated to corals. What looks like an individual is a colony of animals, each with a whorl of swirling tentacles. Different species look different: some are wispy and moss-like (giving rise to a common name of "moss animals"), others are large and round, gelatinous, firm, and slimy to the touch. While they may be unsightly on piers and docks, bryozoans are not a water pollution problem and in fact help to filter water.

I think it may be something that came from Jeff Z's ass, just a thought.

Kelly - What's your unofficial guess because your official one is awesome! Obviously, I had to check you out on Wikipedia, but I would say you are correct. Good guess, girl! I feel a litte bad about killing their entire colony. I will probably let the other one live.

Kellewy, even tho I am impressed w/your obvious knowledge of little known masses, you are wrong. Its a lung. Hopefully not from a person (unless its someone I don't like) but from an animal. Chad, did you open deer season a little early?????

I wish now that I hadn't ate the darn thing. Oh well. I haven't killed a deer in a couple years. This might be my year. I did hear that one of my neighbors was missing...
